3 Days Itinerary For Coastal Bengal
Mandarmani is a quiet village with a pleasant beach with fewer people
insight and beautiful beach resort Whereas Digha is overpeopled and
have all possible staying option from budget lodges to resorts and between
them lies the most scenic drive from Tajpur to Shankarpur. Which makes a
perfect weekend trip from Kolkata. Below is my Day-wise itinerary
Day 1: Kolkata-Mandarmani(173 km)
Start early morning on a bus from Dharmatala, Kolkata to Mandarmani. It will take around 5 hours to reach. As almost all the staying options are by the beach, so upon reaching you can relax at the beach just a few steps from your hotel. In evening, walk or catch a tempo to the market to shop and to eat. As it’s a village, the shops are not open till late. And booked a car to Digha in advance for the next day.
Day 2: Mandarmani-Digha(30 km)
Start your day by witnessing the sunrise. After having breakfast, off for Digha.

In the evening grab some seafood from a local stall, find a place to sit
on the beach and enjoy the sand on your feet, the sound of the waves and
fried fish on your plate.
Day 3: Digha-Kolkata(187 km)
Last day of your trip, remember you have evening train back to
Kolkata(Prebooked the ticket as the train is overcrowded). My advice would
be to check out from your hotel and request them to keep the luggage for
some time. Digha has two beaches, a new and old Digha beach, depending on
which beach you sat last night, go to another beach, visit the
estuary(mohona), or some adventure water sports.
